I know, I know. This is a day late. But better late then never, right?
Last week, we got a brisk cold front so I had to break out the crockpot. AKA my best friend during the wintertime. Have you met my best friend? You two should hang out. She is a good friend to me when I’m tired. She already has dinner ready for me when I’m exhausted after a long day. BFFs forever.
Really, is there anything better than a crockpot meal that has been cooking all day long? Nope. Nothing. Being that I am a good southern girl, I love me some slow cooking.
A few weeks ago we got some venison from my SIL ex boyfriend (strange, I know). After talking it over with the husband, I decided it needed the crockpot to be managable (and even taste good. Venison is NOT easy!). So after some searching I found this for a crockpot beef strogonoff. It didn’t need a lot and seemed really easy. And guess what? It was! Super simple.
The only things that I did differently was I used red wine instead of white. Oh, and I added red peppers in it for a little “something something”. And I thew in frozen venison steaks. Because R is on Adkins, we used low carb pasta with it and it was amazing.
I honestly couldn’t believe it was as easy as it was!
